The bird thrush nightingale in Finnish is Satakieli, which literally means hundred languages. The very same bird in Turkish is Çalı Bülbülü, a specific species within the broader Bülbül - Nightingale family. This name sits at the heart of the Turkish idiom - bülbül gibi ÅŸakımak -  to convey the idea of speaking joyfully or chattering melodiously, where we can experience the essence of the language.

The program is shaped in the search of the Great Mother who is not a gender-specific figure but rather an ancient presence that flows through all beings, all elements, and all languages. Here, we seek to sense her not in form but in essence - in the learning spaces where fragmentation melts into relational harmony.

Inspired by wisdom gathered from different lands and carried within from my own roots, this early foreign language education program has its roots in Anatolia, a name that translates as the land of mothers.

The Luvian Way of EFLE_edited.jpg

Through this early foreign language education program, we delve into the hundred languages of the world; from human languages to the languages of the heirloom seeds - alongside the symbolic languages of stories and mythologies. In this way, this space offers children to sense the relational harmony of the world where each being and element becomes a part of a shared expression - speaking joyfully and chattering melodiously.

This program invites your child to explore, imagine, and create - online and in place -connecting their mind, their hands, and their heart with the world around them while immersing them in a foreign language. Here, every moment is a chance to learn and belong.

Opening Pathways through Storytelling in Early Foreign Language Education

What gives shape and soul to the Luvian way of early foreign language education is its storytelling-based pedagogical framework. Inspired by indigenous wisdom, elemental worlds and mythologies, these stories guide children into experiential learning environments. Storytelling here, then, is not just a teaching method, but a portal.

A portal to:

Interdisciplinary Learning

The Luvian Method offers hands-on learning that connects art, handcraft, cooking&baking, and environmental studies with early foreign language education in meaningful ways.

Self-Reflective Learning

self-reflective learning.jpg

The Luvian Method encourages self-reflective learning by inviting children to explore their experiences, thoughts, and feelings in the foreign language learning process. Children create their own language biography, which is a part of the European Language Portfolio, documenting their personal learning journey.

Embodied Learning

Interdisciplinary learning creates space for embodied learning. The Luvian Method emphasizes embodied learning to engage children’s head, heart, and hands. Children learn actively through movement, songs, poems, and stories, connecting thinking, feeling, and willing in meaningful ways.

A Retreat

The Luvian Method values real-life experiences, which is why, at the end of the online sessions, we come together in person with children and families in purposefully chosen locations and spend three days learning, exploring, and reflecting together. This immersive experience deepens learning, brings language to life, and strengthens connections.
