This blog post is about an educational project that I will start in January 2026. It gives you an idea of the origins of the Luvian Method of early foreign language education. It earned me an acceptance and scholarship into the Creative Computing online Master’s degree offered by Elisava, Barcelona School of Design and Engineering (UVic-UCC). I am directly sharing my motivation letter:
Dear Admissions Board,
I am writing to express my interest in the online Master’s Degree Program in Creative Computing offered by Elisava and UVic-UCC starting in October 2025. This program is a solid step for my future professional goals which stand at the intersection of early foreign language education (EFLE) , depth psychology, and technology. It also informs the PhD studies that I plan to pursue in Finland.
I have a penchant for investigating how educational systems contribute to the progression of humanity on individual, societal, and planetal levels. I believe that the main problems that the mainstream educational systems have caused stem from the reductionist and fragmented understandings of ontological and epistemological foundations of education. To counter this, the educational systems should adopt a holistic view of the child and nurture children's ability to comprehend the world as an interconnected unity.
As I am an English as a Foreign Language teacher and have worked with children since the beginning of my career, I am enthusiastic about applying aforementioned principles into the EFLE experiences that I design. This sense of enthusiasm has inspired me to explore new academic and professional landscapes. The knowledge and insight that I have gathered have evolved in me and are ready to turn into a technology-enriched EFLE program for primary school aged children starting in January 2026 and ending in June 2026.
This hybrid EFLE program will be built upon three foundational principles to bring coherence to otherwise fragmented concepts. Firstly, it embraces a holistic view of the child, following Pestalozzi’s (1746–1827) and Steiner's (1861- 1925) principle of educating the heart, hands, and head. It paves the way to create interdisciplinary learning experiences that incorporate handcraft, arts, and environmental studies into the EFLE. Secondly, for depth psychology, as Erich Neumann suggests in the book The Great Mother, the pedagogical ideal of the future lies in each individual achieving psychic wholeness through the creative integration of conscious and unconscious contents. To support this process, the simplified mythologies and elemental storytelling will be incorporated into the program. Thirdly, online platforms, such as Zoom, bring different children together from different cities for EFLE. As this program continues in 2026, I am highly motivated to learn about creative technologies to artistically communicate two different frameworks in my future PhD application:
1) Drawing on the theories of new materialism and new feminism (Barad, Braidotti, Haraway), as well as depth psychology, I have an intention to explore the concepts of matter and mother as non-linear, transformative, relational, and holistic forces, beyond gendered frameworks. Inspired by the archetype of the Great Mother, I intend to creatively document Anatolia whose name translates to land of mothers in English. Through this work, I aim to propose alternative ontological and epistemological foundations for education.
2) I'd like to use color theories to associate specific concepts in the lessons with colors together with the children. Then, I'd like to extract the colors corresponding to the concepts covered in lessons from January to June. Based on these colors, I plan to create a visual artwork. Given the association between colors and musical notes, I aim to compose a piece of music inspired by this connection. It will present how I intend to present data in my doctoral research.
I am highly eager to learn about the technological skills to bring these ideas into life. In this way, I truly hope to accompany children on their journeys, starting from foreign languages and moving towards the universal languages of colors and notes. It means the foreign language will be translated into the colors and notes. I believe that such experiences encourage children to view the world as an interwoven whole and deepen their awareness and appreciation of the world, while helping them reflect on their unique place within it. Thank you for your time and consideration,
Sincerely, Ceyda Hoşgör
As a footnote: Within the scope of my doctoral research, I would like to explore the Great Mother archetype in various parts of the world.

I am beyond excited to start this project and curious to see how it will evolve. I am also eager to be open to future possibilities, to meet bright minds and pure hearts. Please reach out to me if you think we can collaborate on the project or curriculum, or if you want to talk about color theories, Great Mother Archetype etc.
